Pirates of the Baltic Sea
A Gisla+Rollo fanfiction published by a writer under the pseudonym of The Pirate’s Pen.
Gisla and Rollo stood on the deck of their ship, the Long Serpent, as it sailed through the Baltic Sea. The wind was in their sails and the sun was shining, but Gisla couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. Upon King Alfred’s request, they are now exploring eastwards, but she had never been this far from Kattegat before, and she didn’t know what to expect.
“Are you worried?” Rollo asked, putting his arm around her.
Gisla nodded. “I am. I’ve never been this far from home before.”
“Don’t worry,” Rollo said. “I’m here to protect you.”
Gisla smiled. “I know.”
They stood in silence for a while, watching the waves crash against the side of the ship. Gisla couldn’t help but think about the Viking stories she had heard as a child. Stories of fierce warriors and fearless pirates who sailed the Baltic Sea in search of treasure and glory.
“What do you think we’ll find here?” she asked Rollo.
“I don’t know,” he said. “But I’m sure it will be something exciting.”
Gisla laughed. “I’m sure it will.”
They continued to sail for several days. The weather was good and the sea was calm. Gisla began to relax and enjoy the journey. She spent her days reading and talking to Rollo. At night, they slept under the stars.
They had always been a power couple. They were both strong, intelligent, and ambitious. But when Rollo decided to sail the Baltic Sea, Gisla knew that she had to go with him. She was the only person he could truly trust, and she was determined to help him achieve his dreams. They had faced many challenges together, from the harsh winters of Scandinavia to the bloody battles in Frankia. But now, they were about to embark on their most daring adventure yet: sailing the Baltic Sea as pirates.
Gisla had always been drawn to the sea. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair and the salt spray on her face. Rollo, on the other hand, was more at home on land. But he loved Gisla, and he would follow her anywhere.
Together, they assembled a crew of loyal Vikings and set sail for the Baltic Sea. They were determined to make a name for themselves as the most feared pirates in the region.
Their first target was a wealthy merchant ship from Constantinople. Rollo led the attack, and Gisla fought alongside him, her sword flashing in the sunlight. They quickly overwhelmed the merchant ship and took its cargo of precious spices and silks.
The news of their victory spread quickly, and soon Gisla and Rollo were feared by all who sailed the Baltic Sea. They raided merchant ships and coastal villages with impunity. Their wealth grew, and their reputation grew even faster.
One day, Gisla and Rollo’s ship was attacked by a group of Curonian pirates. The Curonians were known for their ferocity and their skill in battle. But Gisla and Rollo were more than prepared for them. They fought bravely, and they eventually defeated the Curonians.
After the battle, Gisla and Rollo took the Curonian chieftain captive. His name was Indulis, and he was a powerful and respected warrior, who always came back from the Christmas hunt with food for a year. Gisla and Rollo offered to release Indulis if he would join them and help them to explore the Baltic Sea. Ivar agreed, and he became a valuable member of their crew.
Gisla, Rollo, and Indulis traveled all over the Baltic Sea. They explored its many islands and rivers, and they met people from all walks of life. They learned about the Baltic Sea’s rich history and culture, and they helped to strengthen trade relations between the different regions.
One day, they received word that a Danish fleet was sailing towards them. The Danes were the most powerful force in the Baltic Sea, and Gisla and Rollo knew that they would be outnumbered and outgunned.
But they were not afraid. They had faced many challenges before, and they had always emerged victorious and now, they had Indulis to help them. They lined up their ships for battle, and Gisla stood on the deck of her flagship, her sword in hand.
The battle was long and bloody, but in the end, Gisla and Rollo were victorious. They had defeated the Danish fleet and secured their place as the most feared pirates in the Baltic Sea.
Gisla and Rollo continued to sail the Baltic Sea for many years, raiding merchant ships and coastal villages. They became legends, and their stories were told around campfires throughout Scandinavia.
But eventually, they decided to settle down, in Bjarmaland, together with Indulis. They built a stronghold on a small island in the Baltic Sea, where they lived a life of luxury and comfort. They were surrounded by their loved ones, and they were finally at peace.
Gisla and Rollo’s story is a reminder that even the most unlikely heroes can achieve great things. They were pirates, but they were also lovers and companions. They faced many challenges together, and they always emerged stronger. Their story is an inspiration to us all.
