The House of Mermaids

A piece of mermaid fanfiction, published under the name of Evangeline Blackwood.

As the rain pounded against the windows of The House of Mermaids, Pearl huddled under her thin blanket, trying to block out the sounds of moans and groans coming from the rooms around her. She had been brought to the brothel as a baby, left on the doorstep in a basket, and had grown up under the watchful eye of Madam Beryl, the owner of the establishment.

Despite the constant presence of men and women seeking pleasure, Pearl had always felt like an outsider, with her small deformity causing her to be shunned by the other girls. But as she grew older, she began to notice something strange happening to her body. Whenever she was near water, her legs would tingle and ache, and she would feel an overwhelming desire to dive into the depths.

Rumors started to spread throughout The House of Mermaids that Pearl was a mermaid, a creature of the sea. Some of the patrons found this idea alluring, and her popularity began to rise. But as her fame grew, so did the danger she faced. There were whispers of men willing to pay any price to take her virginity, to own a piece of the mythical creature.

One night, as she was being prepared for a client, Pearl overheard a conversation between Madam Beryl and one of her associates. They were planning to sell Pearl to a collector of rare and exotic specimens, a man with a penchant for the unusual and the obscene.

Determined to escape her fate, Pearl fled The House of Mermaids, using her strange affinity for water to slip away undetected. She made her way to the docks, where she met a sailor named Jack, who took pity on her and offered her a place to stay on his ship.

For a time, Pearl was happy, living a life free from the constant threat of exploitation. But as she spent more time at sea, she began to notice something strange happening to her body. Her legs were starting to fuse together, and she found that she could no longer walk on land.

Desperate for answers, Pearl sought out a woman who was said to be an expert in the ways of the sea. The woman told her that she was indeed a mermaid, but that her deformity had prevented her transformation until now. She also warned her that there were those who would stop at nothing to capture her and sell her to the highest bidder.

Pearl knew she had to act fast if she was to protect herself and her newfound friends. Using her mermaid powers, she led a group of sailors in a daring raid on The House of Mermaids, freeing the girls and bringing Madam Beryl to justice.

In the aftermath of the raid, Pearl learned the shocking truth about her origins. She was not the abandoned child she had always believed herself to be, but the daughter of Madam Beryl herself. Her deformity had been deliberately caused by her mother in an attempt to create a mermaid, a rare and valuable commodity in the world of pornography and exploitation.

With this knowledge, Pearl decided to leave her past behind and start a new life on the open seas, using her powers to protect those in need and ensure that no one would ever suffer the same fate as she had. She was a mermaid, but she was also so much more.
