A Vision for the Next Decade

Last week, I had the privilege of joining an incredible workshop with Ali Abdaal and Izzy Sealey. We explored our lives, dreams, and values and created what I’m calling my 10-Year Becoming Board.

This “Becoming Board” is not just a collection of goals—it’s a vision of who I want to become, both personally and professionally. Here’s what I see for my future:

Neuroscientist & Thought Leader

Writing books, giving talks, and sharing ideas on psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy, from my unique autistic perspective.

Artistic Researcher

Creating music and art that combine creativity with academic inquiry. I dream of releasing annual books, CDs, and compositions, with my classical works performed on major stages and my art displayed in museums.

Indie Singer-Songwriter

Writing and performing original songs with ukulele, harp, cello, and more!

Martial Arts & Empowerment

Achieving higher Dan-grades, gaining teaching qualifications, and opening my own dojo to teach self-defence to neurodiverse children and youngsters.

Writer

Publishing literary thrillers, poetry collections, children’s books (in Japanese and Korean, with my own illustrations!), coloring books, planners, and academic works (also as a musicologist).

Founder of an Asia Studies Hub

rowing the Japan Fans platform into an internationally recognised centre for Asia studies, offering language courses, cultural events, and workshops in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and more.

Health & Adventure

Staying fit, discovering new sports like Krav Maga or Kung Fu, and returning to old favourites like archery and horseback riding. Going on small outdoor adventures regularly.

Homely Bliss

Living in a beautiful, spacious home surrounded by nature, with a garden for self-sufficiency, a music room for recording and studying, and plenty of love shared with Boris (my cat), a second kitten, and a sweet bunny.

Friendships

Most importantly, I want to keep building warm, supportive relationships with people who share my curiosity, creativity, and zest for life. And cook for + with them, of course!

…and you?

What are YOUR dreams for the next ten years? Let’s inspire each other! And who knows—maybe we can help each other along the way.
