The Art of Autism<\/strong> is an ongoing artistic research project that explores the lived experience of neurodivergence through a diverse visual vocabulary, including collage, photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, and even Ministeck. Rooted in the first-person perspective of an autistic artist\u2013researcher, the work examines how sensory perception, emotion, and cognitive difference can be expressed beyond the limits of verbal discourse, opening up non-linguistic forms of knowing and feeling. The project has been presented in a variety of community and cultural spaces \u2014 notably at ZIMIHC theatre Stefanus, Cum Cura, Bibliotheek Neude, and Lister Gebiedsteam & Wooncomplex Waalstraat in Utrecht \u2014 thereby situating autistic creativity within public and everyday contexts. The Art of Autism<\/strong> has also gained recognition in both scholarly and popular media, being featured in Transformative Works & Cultures<\/em>, Dagblad Utrecht<\/em>, and on RTV Utrecht, reflecting its significance at the intersection of artistic practice, neurodiversity studies, and public engagement. By reframing autistic aesthetics as a mode of critical inquiry, the project contributes to broader conversations about the epistemic value of neurodivergent perspectives in art and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the characters that I met on the 386 PC was Stalin, one of the playable leaders in Sid Meier\u2019s Civilization<\/em> (MicroProse, 1991). Twenty years later, I wanted to personally respond to seeing a genocidal leader as a character in a game. Therefore, I recreated it in Ministeck.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
